FAQ
You got questions about the materials I use, the crafting & delivery process of your piece of jewelry or you are interested in something else?
Check out the FAQ section or send me a message, I am happy to answer your questions!
I usually work with 925 sterling silver and 999 fine silver as well as 9K, 14K, 18K and 22K yellow gold, depending on the subject.
If you however want a special metal for your custom piece, you can suggest any metal you desire and if you are completely undecided what would fit your style and wearing behaviors I can advise you on the different qualities and we will find a solution that suits you best.
Since every piece is made to order, even the ones in my shop, to include any possible wishes, it might take up to one week to finish your piece, depending on current orders.
If you order a complete custom piece it depends on the complexity as well as possible additions such as gemstones to arrive. Therefor, if you plan on getting more intricate pieces such as betrothal or wedding rings, please consider contacting me more than a month in advance.
Yes.
You can always ask for customizations before ordering any piece, even the ones in my shop. Other materials, other dimensions or engravings are also always an option.
Please keep in mind though that some pieces are more versatile in that regards as others.
I ONLY use ethically harmless materials.
To achieve this I acquire my precious metals specifically not from regular jewelry market sources but instead from industrially approved ones which are regulated more strictly.
This for example means that mines using child labour or sulfuric acid are out of the question since such acids would fail the purity standards for industrially regulated metals
As above, I ONLY use ethically sourced gemstones.
I don’t order them as a bunch from big sellers to get cheap prices. Instead I work very closely with local miners and families to ensure that I actually know where the stones come from, how they are mined and that the miners and their families are adequately paid and cared for.
This means however that if you want a specific stone of a specific size, I will first ask them if they actually have such a stone for sale.
Big mining companies can guarantee this through mass exploitation of labour and land but I think that jewelry shines even brighter if there is no harm attached to it.
First of all I don’t work with any animal based materials such as leather. I personally believe that no piece of jewelry is worth an animal dying for it.
Secondly I arranged my whole atelier and working bench setup to not include animal products. Common pieces in a Goldsmith’s workspace made from animals are for example a leather collection bag for metal scraps and shavings, a beeswax block for jewelry prototype carvings or cuttlebones from cuttlefish as molds for silver castings.
I don’t use any of those and more and just use vegan alternatives instead.
So beginning with material sourcing, working setup, production and finally handing it over to you, no human or animal had to die or suffer for my ease of work or your enjoyment.
